FREQUENT QUESTIONS

  • What is trekking?

Trekking is a sport that is done in the middle of nature in which it is a long distance journey through mountains, forests, rivers and valleys, enjoying nature while performing a sporting activity. To practice this sport it is necessary to be well equipped with good clothes and good footwear suitable for the demands of the terrain where we are going to go.

  • What footwear should I wear for trekking?

To practice trekking we must choose the footwear according to the difficulty and type of terrain. If we are going to make a low/medium level route with an uncomplicated terrain, we recommend wearing a light shoe or boot, with enough sole but not too rigid, if we are going out in the rainy season, we recommend wearing a shoe with waterproof material such as GoreTex, material with which our shoes are made and that prevent our feet from getting wet.

If we go to more complicated terrain, we recommend footwear that protects more from the cold and with a thicker sole, with a heel and water-repellent material.

  • What is the difference between hiking and trekking?

The main difference between trekking and hiking is the duration and difficulty of the activity. In trekking, the route takes several days, staying overnight in nature and following unmarked routes, so our equipment must be adequate, taking into account the terrain and climate. In trekking, the route runs along marked trails and can be done during the day, some routes are more difficult, so we must have the appropriate equipment for each occasion.

  • What footwear should I wear for hiking?

The recommended hiking footwear is a shoe or boot with low rigidity and a robust sole. Depending on the terrain, the more technical the terrain, the better the footwear should be, the stiffer or with more demanding materials. Our hiking shoes should be comfortable and protect us from imbalances, bumps against rocks or avoid wet feet, then we recommend some models according to the difficulty of the terrain.
